Ian Cormack

Art was one of my favourite subjects at school. I won year prizes for it and attended classes at Gray’s School of Art. Perhaps I should have pursued a career in the subject, but I didn’t. In the early 60s art was not really regarded as a reliable career option. Next time around perhaps?

Drawing and painting has remained a pleasurable hobby however, and some twenty or so years ago I discovered the Garioch Art Group. I have, through the group, met many fine artists and have made many good friends.

Today I paint mostly in acrylics, but also in oils and watercolours. Recently I have concentrated on small still life paintings but I also produce larger landscape works and portraits.
