Being a self-taught artist, from an early age I was influenced by my Dad who loved drawing and painting. Although I did art at school, I choose a career in nursing which meant relocating to Dumfries and then to Western Australia.
Over-the-years my painting projects have been extremely varied ranging from backdrops for pantomimes, children’s murals to shop stairwells.
I now mainly paint using oils in an impasto style. My approach and colours are very much influenced by my time abroad. However, I love capturing landscapes of my native Scotland, enjoy the challenge of portraits and have completed commissions on a variety of subjects.
