Charlotte Thomson

Art has been a part of Charlotte’s life for as long as she can remember. She can recall the joy of being gifted paint-by-number sets as a young child and spending hours at the dining table, brush in hand, lost in a world of colour and imagination. Even now the familiar scent of linseed oil in her studio takes her back to these moments when her art journey began.

She aims to tell the stories of animals and landscapes when she paints, capturing the subtle detail that makes them extraordinary. Her deep love of nature was inspired by her much-loved grandmother, Ellen, who taught her the importance of caring for every living being.

She continues to learn about the animals she paints; pausing and observing their markings and colours helping her to create portraits that honour their beauty. She works mainly with oil paints and enjoys the slow process of waiting for each layer to dry, which is a lengthy process!

Through her paintings she hopes to share her wonder and respect for wildlife, inviting others to discover nature's stories – one brushstroke at a time.
